Collective Worship

Collective Worship is an important part of school life. This takes place in the following ways there is one Collective worship activity each day in school:

Collective worship in class

Teachers lead this in their class with a focus linked to a virtue we are focussing on or the needs or intentions of individuals in school or the community both near and far. These are often very moving and spiritual moments in the day.  Examples of Collective Worship can be found here.

Whole School Assemblies

We meet twice a week in the school hall for a whole school assembly. At the start of the week we focus on an important message of the week perhaps from the Gospel or from the teachings of Jesus Christ. This could be how we focus on one of our schools virtues / values in order for us to make a difference to ourselves and others.

On Friday we meet as a school community for our Celebration Assembly. In this assembly we focus on all the positive things that have taken place in the week and children are recognised for their hard work and the skills and talents they have shared with us.

Worship through song

We are lucky to have an extra curricular choir club. Once a week we meet together to learn new hymns which we use in church and in assemblies.

Whole School Mass

At least once a half term we meet in our beautiful church to celebrate mass. All members of our community are welcome to join us. The children lead this liturgy and our masses our always very reverant and respectful.
